Step by Step

Washing

Hand wash (recommended): gently wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Swirl softly, don't twist or wring, then rinse in cold water and press out the excess with your palms. This is the kindest way to protect the fabric, the structure and the magnets.

Machine wash: short on time? Choose a cold, delicate cycle and always place your hijab in a laundry bag first. It keeps the chiffon from snagging and helps it hold its shape.

Drying

Let it air dry, hung in the shade. Chiffon dries quickly on its own, and skipping the tumble dryer keeps it soft, flowy and long-lasting. High heat can also weaken the magnets.

Ironing

Use the lowest heat setting and place a thin cloth on top before ironing. Never press the iron directly onto the chiffon, and keep heat away from the magnets. A low steam works too.

Sister tip: a cotton pillowcase or a thin scarf works perfectly as your pressing cloth.

Storing

Fold gently and keep it somewhere clean and dry, away from direct sunlight. Stored with care, it's always fresh, smooth and ready when you are.

Quick Questions

Yes, on a cold, delicate cycle inside a laundry bag. Hand washing in cold water is still the gentlest option.

Softener leaves a coating on chiffon that weighs it down and dulls its natural flow.

Not with the right care. Magnets can weaken with high heat, such as hot washes, dryers or direct high-heat ironing. Washing cold and air drying keeps them strong.

Iron on low heat with a thin cloth on top, or use a low steam. Storing it folded also helps prevent creases.
